In a previous video, we compared the Fujifilm Instax SQ6 to the Instax SQ20. We recommended the SQ6 over because it is a proper instant film camera, whereas the SQ20 is a digital camera with a relatively tiny image sensor and a printing function. The differences in image quality were pretty clear and in my view the SQ6 was the clear winner.
Recently, Fujifilm released a brand new square format instant camera, the Instax SQ1. This camera is more of a bare bones type camera with limited features. The benefit of this is that it’s simple, straight forward and easy to use. You simply switch it on and start shooting.
The camera has two modes, “On” and “Selfie” mode, both of which can be activated by twisting the front circular section of the camera.
On the surface, I love the simplicity of the new SQ1 and we wanted to see how it compared against my current favourite, The SQ6.
Check out the full video to see how both cameras compare against one another.
